January in Review

Wowowow, this month has flew by! It’s been a big month of growth for me – I hit 100 followers on Instagram at the beginning of January but by the end I had just over 400! It blows my mind that every time I post something, there are around 400 people that get to see what I put into the world 🌎. Thank you so much for your support!

Thoughts: My first midi skirt, love the fun notch on the waistband!

Would I make again? YES! So many fabrics would go well with this skirt 😍

cool in culottes || revisiting Vogue 9075

Alright gang – I finally understand what all the hype around this pattern. Some sewing bloggers say it’s their most used pattern ever, or the first pattern that gave them the confidence to sew! One of my favorite sewing bloggers, Rosy Pena, does an awesome job of talking about the pattern here! I tried it once — and was honestly like, meh. I didn’t love the fit, I hated doing the gathers in the skirt, and was overall underwhelmed. See my initial pattern review here!! But I’m not a quitter, y’all.

gathers || a Vogue 9075 pattern review

hey gang – i’m back again with another make!

As a resident of the beautiful Houston, TX – the weather is constantly changing. In one weekend it can be 40 degrees + pouring rain, and 75 degrees and sunny, making planning winter outfits a little complicated. Enter – the flannel dress!

I bought the Vogue 9075 pattern with the intent to make the fun jumpsuit/culotte view. Link to the pattern is here! However, after looking at my fabric stash, I was a little wary of cutting into some of my more expensive fabrics without knowing how well this pattern would fit and what adjustments I would have to make. I had some clearance flannel shirting from Joann Fabrics (link here!) that I had bought because it was literally  like $3/yard from a few weeks ago that seemed like the perfect weight/drape for a cold weather transition dress The goal was to make a dress that could easily be paired with tights and a scarf if it was chilly outside or just on its own with cute boots and a light jacket if the weather was a little kinder that day.
